Dr. Izak Bakker
Dr Bakker graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 1993 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing Management) obtained in 1986.
He practised as a general practitioner in Pretoria from 1994 to 2001 before moving to Australia with his family in 2002, where he joined Crows Nest Medical Centre.
In 2006, Dr Bakker became the sole owner and principal GP of the practice. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has undertaken further training in skin health, including Certificates in Primary Care Dermatology and Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery.
His clinical interests is skin cancer checks for skin cancer, skin cancer treatment including skin surgical procedures, and vasectomy services.
Outside work, Dr Bakker enjoys time with his family and has a passion for motorbikes, both on and off road.

Our vasectomy doctor offers a high quality service for the fast, relatively painless, NO NEEDLE, Vasectomy procedure.
Depending on the kind of work that you do, you should be able to return to work the day after your procedure. This is the case for people who predominantly work behind a desk or counter.
However, if your role involves any kind of heavy lifting, reaching, stretching, or other physical exertion you may want to request to be put on light duties for your first week back at work. If this is not possible, you will need to take the week off work (we can provide medical certificates upon request) to recover properly before you return.

No, you do not need a referral to book a consultation or procedure.
How long does the procedure take?
Your appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes, including the consultation and vasectomy.
How many days do you need to take off work?
Desk-based work: usually 1–2 days. Physical work or heavy lifting: up to 1 week.
Is the procedure painful?
Most men experience minimal discomfort. Pain can be managed with Paracetamol or Ibuprofen if needed.
Do you need special underwear?
Not required, but firm underwear is recommended for the first 10 days.
Will I get a Medicare rebate?
Yes, a Medicare rebate applies to this procedure.
Do you bulk bill?
No, we do not bulk bill, except for DVA Gold Card holders.
